Enroute to Italy via Dubai, bad vomiting and abdominal pain so missed flight to Rome. Had to call in a Dr, then rebook missed flight and additional accommodation in Rome. Claimed this morning and claim approved within 2 hrs. Can't ask any better than that. Claim forms are clear and easy to use. Thanks 1Cover am very impressed.

Being over 75 it is always hard to get travel insurance. Because I had bypass surgery a few years ago they will not cover me for any heart problem. My health is excellent now and is probably a lot better than many people who have not had a bypass but do not know their real state of health. My cholesterol levels are perfect and I feel that the 1Cover policy is not sensible or logical.

Even though phone was clearly stolen and had all supporting evidence the policy states because it was outside of daylight hours and was stolen from a secure locked compartment on a scooter it was not covered. I think this is unfair and should be reviewed!! I have used 1Cover on a number of occasions and never claimed and now I will not use them again after this experience.

This was the first time I bothered to purchase travel insurance. I brought it because I have recently left my homeland to move to Australia and have only my bare minimum and most precious possessions with me.
Unfortunately a few days before my policy ran out I have misplaced or had my watch, an expensive and cherished gift that was given to me on my birthday over a year ago. I claimed, I gave as much information as I could including proof of ownership, report of its loss and full claim lodged with 1Cover.
My claim, completely legitimate and absolutely submitted with more than enough "evidence" to show I am not some kind of crook, was promptly denied. A lack of receipt for that watch was sited as the reason. Evidence of the watches box, serial number and me wearing the watch before it was lost/stolen all fell as not sufficient. A GST receipt, that's what I should have on me at all times or be able to easily produce for all my items traveled with that were supposedly insured. Sure, I have a receipt for a gift given to me by an ex partner over a year ago, I always travel with it.... ridiculous. Good luck with any claim on jewelry given or passed down to you by your grandparents or any other item you have purchased and lost the receipt for.
I am quite sure your business would and will suffer significantly should more people become aware of this simply for the obvious difficulty most people will have producing GST receipts for items of clothing, jewelry, note books, even electronics like laptops, MP3 players, sunglasses you name it! Very, very disappointing and not the same experience I have heard from others I have shared this with who used your competitors.
A sad and unbelievably irritating end to my travel and online travel insurance experience. In my opinion, what was purchased was most definitely not fit for purpose and I certainly will be only forthcoming and honest when sharing my experience and loss that was not covered by your organisation when friends and family ask for referrals when seeking a similar policy for their holidays.
An important lesson learned, thank goodness I did not fall ill in America and be facing a next level nightmare with the impersonal and impractical terms of denial shown as an example of the process this policy and its executors followed.

Our flight was cancelled recently for 24 hours - meaning we had a layover for a day in Auckland. 1 cover said because Air NZ put us up in a hotel for the night we had no compensation on our missed prepaid accommodation in Honolulu that was $500 a night.
