NZ Travel Insurance

I always use 1Cover when travelling to the South Island, from the North Island. Excellent service, and having to have made one claim over the years, it was hassle free. Great Insurance to have.

Peace of mind

Even though we haven't needed to make a claim 1cover is reasonably priced and we have peace of mind that we are covered.

easier than the rest

I'm type 2 insulin dependent, no problems controlling it and with some insurance companies its hard work convincing them of it. With 1cover it was a straightforward question and answer application and I really appreciated it being so simple. cheers

Not pleased with my experience

I tried to add my older daughter onto my cover having booked her flights at a later stage, but she couldn't be added, we needed to take out a completely new cover for her. The customer service guy was great but I was disappointed that you couldn't offer this support

No problems insurance

Have been using for some years. Just advise by phone no change to previous conditions and all is done. One must read the exclusions in the contract.

1Cover really is the best for travel insurance

I cannot say enough about 1Cover and the awesome service they provided me when I broke my ankle in Australia. My case manager was really good at explaining how the whole process worked as this was the first time I had to make a claim and they really looked after me and kept me fully informed. 1Cover has always been my go to for travel insurance.

Prompt claim and payment

I have used 1cover for insurance on several occassions. I have had to make a claim on a few occassions and I have been impressed with how easy it is to make a claim and the prompt approval and payment.

No holiday and refunds given back

Ripped off, never gave money, didn't get to go on holiday, they keep $184 so this company profit from us seniors

Beware the small print

We were called back to Auckland from our trip to Adelaide as my father was dying. We had to change our flights and managed to get back before he passed away.
We were not covered for the cost because he was over 85 years old.
Disappointed.

In the process of a claim

So far to date we will not be using 1cover again. 2 unsatisfactory phone calls to date. Probably won't get paid out as we can't provide proof of purchase and have been told loss and theft are 2 different things. Loss not being covered. $400 Not well spent

The best in the business!!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with 1cover! Not only didn’t their policies match my travel needs, they exceeded them and more! When I contacted them with a query, they responded asap while I was overseas, they sorted it without me asking! 11/10!

No claim no idea

Never claimed so cannot comment on whether it works. Same cover for less than fellow travellers. Medical loading for condition that no longer exists is a frustration.

Seems good but no advice

No advice given around car insurance. Customer has to figure it out themselves and guesstimate cover, hopefully its all there for x location.
Needs advice.

Cheap, easy, flexible

1Cover offer excellent value travel insurance, I also found buying this insurance on-line very easy. Due to changes in travel plans I needed to extend the insurance by 3 days, the process was again very simple. Very happy, will buy again!

Insurance

I have always taken insurance when traveling out of NZ and very fortunate never had the need to use so ends up a waste of money but a necessity and 1cover did have a great deal with Comprehensive cover for a good price. So using www.comparetravelinsurance.co.nz worked.

Shame about the fine print

The person who dealt with my claim was great it's unfortunate however that I paid all that money and couldn't claim back an ipod that my 10 year old lost. If it was an adult sure the left behind rule should apply but children leave/drop things and now as a result she has to go without. I thought the reason we got insurance for kids was for this exact reason so like I said in the title shame about the fine print we'll have to shop around next time to find a company that understands children.

Disappointed with way claim was assessed

Lost two pairs of optical glasses in one case. Replacement cost $549. Paid out less than half that.
Will be travelling again soon but feel let down.

Not too complicated

Found the process ok, good timely response after I had all the documents in. Was a bit tricky getting some of the required documents back from the airline, but got there in the end.
