I have used 1 Cover Insurance a number of times over the years. Thankfully I have not needed to claim but a couple of years ago I was travelling with my sister in-law in the US, she unfortunately got sick and was briefly hospitalised, when we got back I asked her how did her claim go, she said everything went through without any problems, I was so happy for her as I recommended 1 Cover.

I was easily able to understand what I was covered for in big print (rather than obscure small print that you have to try and work out). This is not so with other insurers, I was able to alter the insurance policy when we were in transit when we decided to travel to another country. All in all it was an easy decision

I went to Samoa to the island of Upolo for seven days. I did leave getting travel insurance till late.1Cover was quick and easy (online) and conformation of the policy very quick, with contact details when required. I can honestly say I did not have to activate any part of insurance policy, but knowing it was available at any was comforting. Funny I got stung by a hornet, completely different to our New Zealand wasp, horrible looking things, but most of all I drove around the Island a lot dodging all manner of animals that crossed the road, including people.

I email asking if I should make a claim just in case our bags don't turn up haven't heard anything and it is now evening, Tuesday 5th February. I made a claim about lost luggage on Saturday evening by email because our bags didn't arrive into Auckland from Rarotongo with us on 2nd February. I have contact the airline and also haven't heard anything. I am totally disappointed

Travelled to Aussie to visit my sister who was seriously ill with cancer. Had to change my flights to get there on time. She died the next day. Couldn't contact office by phone as was put on permanent hold. Sent an email. Was told I could change my cover dates as long as I didn't claim on the changed flights. Gave up at that point due to stress.

Went to hire a car overseas and needed a quick overview of my cover which I was not able to access when I needed it. Had a lot of confidence I was covered but would have been good to have been able to confirm. Would recommend otherwise.

I paid money for safety but I realised its not worth it because I haven’t received my claim and it's a very long process, i provided everything during the first stage, and then they hire a third party to handle this case which is disgusting. I will never come back

I had a claim with 1Cover in 2018 after breaking my ankle in Morocco.
Though there were communication issues to overcome (Arabic language) it worked out well in the end and 1Cover paid out without hassles.

I travelled to Vietnam without a return ticket, as this was being arranged by my employer over there, so was unsure of my return date. I arranged travel insurance for a few days after my preferred return date, however my boss booked a ticket 4 days after the expiry of my travel insurance policy due to the flights being cheaper on this date. I called 1 cover to extend my policy and they advised me that there was a 72 hour stand down period and it would cost $85. So basically I had to pay $85 to be covered for one day and had to hope nothing went wrong in the three days in between!!!! Absolutely ridiculous! Left me feeling very uneasy about my travel.

Everything was great to set-up but when we needed to check something when picking up rental car (as to whether comprehensive cover covered 3rd party insurance) we couldn’t get through which was disappointing.
