To be honest I was completely blown away by how good these guys were to deal with and how the got my families claim sorted, it was related to two delayed flights coming home one due to fog in Norfolk Island and then our domestic flight to New Plymouth from Auckland, resulting in us having an extra 4 days to get home.

1Cover was much more flexible in covering pre-existing conditions than other companies and this was a positive feature. A late additional cover was dealt with before departure. We needed to claim on two matters relating to our travel and they were dealt with promptly on our return. Communication was very good, both in manner and timeliness. Just be aware that e-mail is the principal means of communication, but it works. The last step in submitting a claim was a verification of identity and it did not work as quickly and easily as the video claimed. We would be happy to use 1Cover again

I lodged a claim for interupted travel due to a Super Typhoon. I did everything in my power to limit the costs, took a flight downgrade, did not claim for snacks etc, stayed in a cheaper hotel and was totally honest in all I claimed. The original review of the claim took 10 days, then they asked for more information, said that was all they needed. 10 more days passes and they ask for further information (which had already been provided). They finally settled most of the claim 6 weeks after being lodged. There is no one you can speak to - all done online or by email - frustrating and makes the process longer. Some of the questions they ask do not make sense, asked me for the original reason for my trip! What they meant wwas the original reason for my flight cancellation. So the process dragged on.
In fairness to 1Cover they have covered 97% of the claim, but their claim process is not fast, you need to spend a lot of time emailing and uploading documents.

My wife and I have used 1 Cover for numerous holidays mainly because my wife has an existing Medical Condition. 1 Cover provides us Travel Insurance despite the pre existing condition for not too much extra so it is good value for money. There are not too many Travel Insurance companies that will actually provide Travel Insurance for someone with the condition my wife has. 1 Cover allows us to travel with peace of mind knowing that we are covered for any mishap, pre existing or otherwise.
Fortunately we have never had any mishaps and have not had to make a claim u til now.
On a recent trip to Bali my wife fell, dislocating and fracturing her elbow. She went to the International Hospital where we contacted 1Cover. She was seen by a Doctor and Specialist and was provided the best Medical Treatment. On our return to Australia 1 Cover arranged an extra Airline seat so that she didn’t accidentally aggravate her injury.
1 Cover maintained contact with us ensuring we were being well looked after.
The cost of this incident exceeded $10,000.
Apart from the small excess we didn’t have any out of pocket expenses.
We continue to use 1 Cover and highly recommend them for Travel Insurance.
I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We have been using 1 Cover for the past couple of years for travel & rental car insurance. It's extremely easy to arrange & for the first time we had to make a claim for a cracked windscreen in the rental car. The process was simple & the claim was approved in a few days. Great service.

After reading the great reviews I chose 1Cover...and am so grateful. I fell from a low horizontal tree onto sand in Rarotonga on day 2 of my holiday. After 3 nights in hospital there in temp casts and major pain I was put on a medical evacuation flight to Hamilton for surgery the following day for a broken femur and wrist broken in 2 places. As soon as I met my lovely nurse Angela and my two pilots i knew I would be okay. 1Cover liaised with my sister all by phone. They covered the full cost of my flight which was $95 000 and the cost of treatment and 3 nights in Rarotonga Hospital, around $3000. Minus only the excess of $200. For a policy that only cost me $43.00 this is amazing! Please NEVER travel without insurance and tell EVERYONE! I cannot recommend 1Cover enough. Thank you for everything. Julie.

From being a healthy person to being admitted into hospital with heart failure and now AF, I was to,d to cancel travel plans. I sent letter from hospital and GP. Other documents regarding trip. I have sent documents twice. It seems they went to other assessor’s. All I get is a run around. I am sure they hope I will die and don’t have to pay me. Don’t use this company

Hesitant to begin process, 1Cover made everything pain free. Where we weren’t sure we contacted and had super quick responses. The entire process was hassle free, great communication and easy to use. Will definitely be using 1Cover again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

1Cover is the most unreliable insurer I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
Don’t waste your money or invest your trust with them if you want to be treated fairly.
Their website states that they help with cancelled flights. Now, imagine you’re standing in an airport on the other side of the world with two young children and your flight is cancelled, you have to scramble on the spot to book more flights for the next day and get another hotel as well as other arrangements. This was the nightmare situation that my family was in, but we were at least comforted by the fact that we had comprehensive travel cover. Our claim was later denied and then dodged again on a ridiculous technicality once I submitted a formal appeal. This was a brutal blow to our family after a lot of distress + massive hit to our financial situation abroad.
Do yourself a favour and stay away, I wish I had of gone with a more reliable provider.

1Cover was truely professional and efficient. We most certainly did not expect to make a claim but a serious injury 4 days before departure to Europe stopped us joining a motorcycle tour in Spain.
