Personal liability is one of the benefits we have that cover your legal liability for payment of compensation in respect of death or bodily injury, and/or physical loss of, or damage to property.
We will also reimburse your reasonable legal expenses for settling or defending the claim made against you. You must not admit fault or liability for the claim, or incur any legal costs without our prior written approval.
Please note that we do not offer personal liability cover whilst you are in ownership or in control of a motor vehicle, motorbike or scooter, and we don’t replace any aspect of car insurance.
Our Comprehensive, Domestic and Frequent Traveller policies do, however, offer cover for Rental Vehicle Excess.

Our personal liability benefit is excluded if you're in control of any motor vehicle.
However if your rental vehicle agreement, covers third parties and you have to pay an excess, then you may have a provision to claim for this excess amount if your policy covers Rental Vehicle Excess.
