If you are going to ride a quad bike or ATV, here are some safety tips:
Whether or not its compulsory to wear one, you should always wear a helmet when riding an ATV. Bike flips are a common cause of injury so, at a minimum, a helmet can reduce your risk of a serious brain injury. A helmet can mean the difference between a minor or catastrophic injury.
Ensure you rent your vehicle from a reputable, licenced commercial operator who is required complete relevant safety checks and provide you with appropriate training.
Regardless of your experience, anyone can experience a road accident. Always use common sense and avoid risk taking behaviour while riding any type of vehicle abroad.
Regardless of what type of vehicle you choose to ride, make sure you know the local rules and regulations. Always stay alert and aware when riding in an unknown area and keep vigilant for risky-riders and dangerous terrain.
The rules may be different abroad, but you must always be licensed in order to ride certain types of vehicles. To ride legally overseas you may require a licence valid for the same class of vehicle you're intending to hire, accompanied with an international driver's permit.
Terms and conditions, limits and exclusions apply. Please see the PDS for full details.
